The Final Days...

Just a little nice news to share. I was given this award by my blogging friend Jocelyn. She really is the sweetest person and it's been a lot of fun getting to know her. I know I've said this before, but the internet really is an amazing tool-connecting people from all over the country that would never know eachother if they didn't have that common link-the cyber world. I was totally honored with this award and want to thank you Jocelyn for thinking of me:) What a treat:) :)
I would love to be able to pass this on to a few blogs that are truly fabulous. I am inspired by these ladies daily and they are so sweet too-I think you will enjoy what you see!!!

I know I'm missing some of you gals, but it's been a really long day and I just can't think of everyone!!!!!

I've been busy creating some simple cards for my mom for Christmas. I already bought and gave her main gift to her. Early in the Christmas season I bought tickets and took her to a beautiful Christmas concert. I still wanted to give her something meaningful and useful, but nothing major since I had already spent enough. I thought I would put together a variety of cards for her to have on hand to give to people for different occasions. She sends a lot of cards out to people so I think she will really enjoy and use this gift. I've had a ton of fun putting them together too. They are simple enough that I don't have to do a lot of thinking, but pretty cnough that I am still proud to give them. Sometimes going back to simplicity in my cardmaking and scrapbooking is truly refreshing.

I am still going to try and get a few more done tonight.

We are off to look at Christmas lights this evening. Our neighborhood has their annual luminary display tonight. Our whole neighborhood is lined with luminaries-it is such a beautiful sight. It is only 4 degrees here today so I was pretty cold getting them ready and lit, but when it's all said and done it's worth it.
Bergen has been sick the past 3 days-he had to miss his Christmas program this morning and I was totally bummed. His first program:( I have to admit I was tempted to pump him full of Motrin and shove him up onstage, but then I was quickly reminded that it wasn't about me-it was about him and how yucky he must feel. ( I was kidding about the motrin-please don't take my mother of the year award away-oh, that's right, you can't hear my sarcasm through the computer screen:) :)
This afternoon I made Aaron's favorite cookie-Dipped Gingersnaps. I'm hoping to have half the batch left by morning-they are truly delish and one of his favorites-he cannot leave them alone. I am hoping to post the recipe tomorrow-I'm just too darn lazy to dig it out tonight.
I got good news this evening as I found out my brother and SIL and their 3 children will be coming for Christmas on New Year's Eve and staying for several days. I love that because it really helps to extend the season-or at least it makes it feel that way. I love to be surrounded by family and friends during the Christmas season-I cannot even imagine it any other way.
I hope you too are surrounded by the ones you care most about this holiday season. May you enjoy your final days and final hours of preparation before Christmas!!!!!
Hugs!!!!!
Krista

Tonight I am thankful for:

1. 6 more gifts wrapped and placed under the tree.

2. HUMOR-half of our Christmas lights on our tree aren't working.

3. Snow storms-it's weird but the older I get, the more I love them. It's like it makes a good excuse for me to be home all day-you know how I love that:)

4. My Great Aunt's cherished Coconut Bon Bon recipe-enough said:)

I'm going to keep this in mind for my Momma. She sends cards all the time and this would make a wonderful gift. So sorry your little one was sick! Sounds like it is COLD there, COLD here too and I am off to see my ENT this morning!!!! This is hubby's last day off of vacation and he has to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but he will join us when he gets all the travelers safe on their way!!!! Have a wonderful Monday and keep warm!!!!

What a sweet post, Krista! Except for that Motrin part! ;) I'm trying to figure out what authority to contact. ;) just kidding. Honestly, I am refreshed by your sense of humor and all your kindness. You are so very sweet. Thank you for thinking of me with that award! You made my day.
And what adorable cards you've made. Your mom is going to love them. I try to make sets occasionally for my mom, and she always gets so thrilled over them. I think it's a great gift!
Hope you have a fabulous holiday, girl!
