It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year...

The joys and busyness of Christmas have definitely arrived here at our home. There are so many wonderful things about this time of year-I could go on and on. Definitely the birth of our King is the center of it all, but along with that I just can't help but get a little sentimental this time of year. It is so wonderful to reflect on Christmas's past-when I was a child-the sounds, smells, tastes and feels of Christmas.
I often chuckle at the things that can trigger a good warm fuzzy memory. The smell of bacon always reminds me of Christmas morning-mom always used to make it then. And fudge-Christmas simply won't come without a batch of Aunt Vivian's fudge. I've continued to carry on some of the traditions that I grew up with because that's what we as mom's do. When I was a young girl I would sit for hours listening to Mom and Dad's old Christmas records. Most of them were country and to most people they would be hideous-but to me they were special, I loved them and love them still. I am lucky enough to have a few of those albums now and it means so much to be able to pull them out and enjoy them once again.
It makes me wonder what sorts of things will be tradition to my boys and what sort of memories will they have of the holidays. It is so easy to grow tired with so many things to do this time of year, but sometimes it's the little things that really matter. A special little Christmas story, watching a Christmas movie all snuggled up in mom and dad's bed, baking cut out's together. I hope my boys will always remember how much fun we had doing all these things together.

Just a couple of cards for you tonight before I am off to rest. I spent a good portion of the day today baking peanut butter blossoms for a fundraiser for our church's youth group and I could use some good down time for a bit. I've baked close to 300 cookies so far, probably could have gotten a few more if I hadn't eaten so darn much batter:)

This card features one of Santa's beautiful reindeer-from MAMBI. Papers are Making Memories and KI. Other products include Creative Imaginations, Papertrey Ink and Queen & Co.

This next card I heat embossed those stars from Papertrey Ink Star Prints. The papers are Melody Ross's new collection from GCD.
See-you can make anything look Christmasy:)
And speaking of Christmas, I think it's going to be a white one afterall. We are in the middle of a snowstorm and it is just so beautiful!!! I don't mind the snow-sure it's chilly, but when you stop and look at the beauty of it-I'm just amazed. I can't imagine being anywhere else for Christmas.

I am falling asleep as I am typing so I think that's a sign to hit the sack. Thanks for stopping by tonight-I've got more fun projects to come so be sure to stop by again soon!!!!
